Genetic Predispositions and Health
Generally, Tazi dogs are robust and healthy, thanks to their genetic diversity as a primitive breed. Currently, there are no known genetic conditions tightly associated with the Tazi breed. This breed is considered very rare. As a Sighthound breed, they are known to be more sensitive to barbiturate anesthetics. Thiopental, or any other thiobarbiturate, should not be used on these dogs.
Personality and Behavior
Tazis are known to be independent, intelligent, and slightly aloof. They may be reserved with strangers but are generally gentle and affectionate with their family. Like other sighthounds, they have a strong prey drive and love to run. They're well-suited to active families who can provide plenty of physical and mental stimulation.
