Puli
The Puli is a breed of herding dog that originated in Hungary. They are known for their unique coat of corded hair, similar to dreadlocks, which makes them distinct among other dog breeds. This breed is classified as a medium-sized dog, known for its agility and alertness. Pulik (the plural of Puli) are an ancient breed with a history that stretches back over a thousand years. They were brought to Hungary by the Magyars in around 800 AD, who used them for herding and guarding livestock. Their incredible agility and alert nature made them excellent at these jobs. Over the centuries, Pulik were bred selectively for their working qualities, resulting in the breed we see today. Despite being a very old breed, the Puli wasn't officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) until 1936. During World War II, the breed nearly became extinct, but was saved by dedicated breeders.

Genetic Predispositions and Health
