Maine Coon

Maine Coons are gentle giants with a loving, friendly, and sociable nature. They enjoy being in the middle of the action in your home and do well in families with children, dogs, and other cats. The Maine Coon is a water-loving cat and is the third most popular breed in the United States.


Ragdoll

Ragdolls are blue-eyed beauties known for their affectionate nature and tendency to go “limp like a ragdoll” when carried. They make wonderful family pets and get along well with other cats and dogs.

Persian Cat

Persians are one of the most popular breeds and easily recognizable by their fluffy longhaired coat, flat face, large cheeks, and expressive eyes. They like quiet time with their humans. While they prefer to lounge and rest, they are also known for their surprise bursts of playful activity.


Siberian Cat

Siberian catss are affectionate, highly intelligent, playful, and sociable. These kitties have beautiful semi-longhair coats that change with the seasons. The long locks of the Siberian look their best with weekly care and brushing. Also known as the Siberian Forest Cat or Moscow Semi-Longhair, this cat is Russia’s national animal.


Bengal Cat

Often referred to as the "Miniature Leopard" of the domestic cats, the Bengal is a unique breed designed to resemble exotic wild cats such as Ocelots, Margays, and Clouded Leopards. Bengals are active, energetic, and playful kitties who have a lean and muscular body, broad head, relatively short ears, and a long neck. 

 American Wirehair

Peterbald

Peterbalds are extremely loyal cats with a sweet and affectionate nature. Known for playing “host” to guests in the home, they get along just as well with strangers as they do with the children, pets, and other family members in their home.


Munchkin Cat

The Munchkin is a speedy little bundle of joy. This relatively young feline breed is infamous for its short legs, intelligent mind, and friendly, people-oriented demeanor. The characteristic short legs of the Munchkin cats are determined by the Munchkin "M" gene. Sporting either short, plush coats or medium to long silky ones, these energetic kitties come in all coat colors and patterns.

Norwegian Forest Cat

Norwegian Forest Cats are exceptionally loyal companions known for their loving and gentle nature. These intelligent, longhaired beauties love to climb to new heights and observe their environment with their large, expressive eyes.


Scottish Fold

Meet the only cat who has been described to resemble an owl: the enchanting Scottish Fold! These captivating felines are known to exhibit an unusually high level of affection and are characterized by the distinctive feature of forward-folded ears. At birth, all kittens will have straight ears. Those who carry the fold gene will begin showing this distinctive feature within 21 days. The rest of the kittens who don't develop the characteristic fold are known as "Straights". Scottish Folds come in all coat colors, lengths, and patterns.

American Shorthair

Exotic Shorthair

Exotic Shorthairs share the same body type as the Persian and the Himalayan, yet are distinguished by their short, coarse coat that is significantly easier to maintain. These easy-going cats love to follow their humans from room to room, and they enjoy being in households with children and other pets.


Turkish Angora

Russian Blue

The Savannah cat is an unusual, yet beautifully elegant cross between the African Serval cat and the Domestic cat. Abyssinian

Lykoi

If you've ever wanted to own a feline version of a werewolf, then the Lykoi is for you! Known for its sparse, grayish-black coat and hairless face and muzzle often referred to as a mask, the Lykoi is one of the most easily recognizable advanced new breeds that remains very popular on social media.

Chausie

The name Chausie (pronounced Chaw-See) derives from the Latin name "Felis Chaus," meaning "jungle cat." The Chausie is a mix between a wild cat and an Abyssinian. When it comes to owning a Chausie, there is never a dull moment. Whether they are showing you their high-flying circus skills or dazzling you with their exotic looks, the highly intelligent and playful Chausie will make your life truly exciting!

LaPerm

The unique combination of delightful appearance and lovely personality captivates nearly anyone who has the pleasure of meeting a LaPerm cat. This American rex breed is a carrier of a unique genetic mutation that gives its cats their 'perm'.

Domestic Shorthair

The domestic shorhair cat is not a recognized breed with gilded papers, but is rather a cat of mixed ancestries. Here at Basepaws, we affectionately call them Domestic Polycats - because why do purebreds get to have all the cool names? Domestic Polycats are domestic cats of (yet) unknown origins.

European Shorthair

A popular breed throughout Europe and other parts of the world that comes in all colors and patterns, the European Shorthair is sure to bring joy to any home.

Korat

The Korat is a highly intelligent breed with ancient origins in Siam, now known as Thailand. An energetic cat that will keep you company and shower you with love, the Korat wants to be your close companion for life. They are easily recognized by their silver-tipped blue coat that only comes in a solid pattern and their lovely heart-shaped face that is associated with good fortune in love and marriage.

Selkirk Rex

This naturally curly cat is often referred to as "the cat in sheep's clothing". Sporting a plush, woolly, and dense coat in a wide range of colors and patterns, the Selkirk Rex is an affectionate teddy bear of a cat that can't wait to be welcomed into your home. 

Highlander Cat

The Highlander cat, originally called the Highland Lynx, is a young breed dating back to the early 1990s. While wild-looking, this kitty does not have any wild cat blood. The cats of this beautiful breed are recognizable by their  signature curled ears and short expressive tails. These wild-looking kitties are highly intelligent, extremely affectionate, and known to make wonderful additions to both family and single person households.

Ocicat

The Ocicat is a wild-looking beauty without a drop of wild blood. These domestic cats are very curious and incredibly clever. They do well in family households and are known to bond deeply with their favorite human(s). They also enjoy the company of other pets, especially ones with whom they can engage in lots of play and mischief!

Cornish Rex

This sleek and slender kitty has a big personality wrapped within its signature kinky-curled coat. Always at the ready for fun and play, the Cornish Rex is a cat that will keep you on your toes and thoroughly entertained.

American Curl

The American Curl is an intelligent, loyal, and loving kitty. Affectionately known as the "Peter Pan" of cats, they are known to retain their kitten energy well into their senior years. They often have tufted tails and sport ears with an elegant backwards curl, said to resemble the fanned and tufted ear features of the Lynx. 

Small Wild Cats

In the main cat family called Felidae, there are two sub-families: Pantherinae and Felinae. The sub-family Felinae is further classified into the genus Prionailurus, in which we find many, but not all, of the Small Wild Cat species. It is important to note that these cats are not pets; they belong in the wild in their natural habitats where they can ideally live, hunt, and reproduce without interference from humans. 


Big Wild Cats

The big wild cats species of the world continue to fascinate with their striking looks, fierce agility, and formidable presence. In the main cat family called Felidae, there are two sub-families: Pantherinae and Felinae. The sub-family Pantherinae is further classified into the genus Panthera, in which we find many, but not all, of the big wild cat species. It is important to note that these cats are not pets; they belong in the wild in their natural habitats where they can ideally live, hunt, and reproduce without interference from humans. 

 American Bobtail

This adorable cat is naturally short-tailed and native to North America. The American Bobtail is known to be a highly intelligent cat with balanced energy that makes a great family pet.

Ragamuffin

Ragamuffin cats are well-known for their sweet and affectionate personalities and their beautifully silky-soft, thick fur. When you get home, they'll greet you at the door with a meow and happily follow you around the house. These patient and intelligent kitties are social and outgoing and tend to do well to households with families and other pets. 

Balinese

The Balinese cat  exudes equal amounts grace and elegance. They have a loving temperament and a strong desire for companionship. They are highly intelligent and playful, and are also known as some of the more vocal and attention-seeking of cats. Though its history isn’t long, the Balinese has quickly become a popular breed throughout the world. 


Bombay

The Bombay cat is a beautiful golden-eyed kitty with lots of energy. These highly sociable and intelligent cats are ready to shower you with love and spend a lot of time with you, your family, and other pets.
